Update on Mariposa Fire

July 23, 2017

Team – I made contact with Lions Penny and PDG Tom Penhallegon. The Fire is now 40% contained – and if current conditions continue, Cal Fire anticipates rapid progress. I offered any and all resources we have at our disposal. As you can read below, they are requesting 5-6 Lions to assist with sorting and packaging existing product for distribution. They have folks / Lions doing the BBQ and associated chores. Continue reading

Fire in District 4-A1 (Mariposa)

From PID Howard Hudson:

Fellow Lions – As many of you have seen, there is another fire that is burning in District 4-A1.  And the Lions of that district are helping by providing food services to the fire fighters and relief workers.  As the fire continues to burn, the Lions will be needing assistance in both food preparation and food service.  If you or any members of your club can go there to help, please call Wendy Penhallegon at 209-406-5015.  They certainly could use the help of anyone who can get there.

From Sonora Lions:

The Sonora Lions Club, along with District 4-A1, is requesting your help. As you probably are aware, there is a nice little bonfire occurring in our back yard again, necessitating many resident evacuations. The Sonora Fairgrounds is again ground-zero for housing these evacuees and The Red Cross has asked for the Lions Clubs’ assistance. The Red Cross recognized our talent, dedication, and willingness to help in disaster relief circumstances, so here we are again. We are requesting the help of clubs in our district or individuals to assist in meal preparation and serving for approximately the next two weeks.
