YMCA CAMP CAMPBELL

Lions Camp for Kids with Diabetes Fundraiser Co-Chairs Peter Herrera and Val Isaacson invite you to join us at camp to celebrate our successful March fundraiser.

Thanks to your generous support we were able to give to DYF a check for $24,780. All of this money goes directly to the Diabetic Youth Foundation Summer Camp for Kids with Diabetes. Your support allows kids who don’t have the financial resources to attend camp and learn how to manage their illness while having fun at the same time.

To tour this fantastic camp in action click on this link http://lionsday2014.eventbrite.com. There is no charge for this event. If the lunch tickets are gone, bring your own picnic lunch. Carpools will be leaving Denny’s on Hillsdale at Almaden Expressway at 9 am. Come and join us!

IF YOU COULD GIVE THE GIFT OF SIGHT, WOULD YOU?

San Jose Almaden Lions Club is hosting a family night with a Miniature Golf Chip-In for Sight Tournament on August 21 at 5:30 pm.

100% of the proceeds go to Lions Club sight projects to help both children and adults who cannot afford glasses. For some this means the difference in succeeding at school or finding a job. Your support of this event enables Lions to support needed projects in our community.

Tickets are $45 each, which includes golf, all-you-can-eat pizza, soda, raffle, and live and silent auctions, or $15 without golf.

Tee Sponsorships are also available for individual donors and businesses for $200.

Come join us for a fun night at Emerald Hills Golfland, 976 Blossom Hill Rd San Jose, at Winfield Blvd. For more information e-mail http//www.info@chipinforsight.org or call Lion Jeff Spedding @ 408-221-1106.

LCIF Grant Request for Pediavision Spot Vision Screening Devices

Pediavision Spot

The LCIF Board met in June and approved our grant request for matching funds for the Pediavision screening devices. We will soon have enough funds to purchase four devices. With the four devices we should be able to quickly and efficiently screen more people in less time with better results.

Let us give a big Thank You to PDG Bob Ferber who worked tirelessly to convince the LCIF Board that our need was significant to provide service to our communities.

Another great thank you goes to the Lions of District C6 for their generosity in collecting our portion of the matching funds.

Thank you to all in the spirit of Lionism.

I am personally inviting you to a very special celebration of the merger of the San Jose Host and San Jose East Valley Lions Clubs.  we are now one and we are looking forward to a new and exciting future.  With both clubs having long histories I know we will learn from our pasts and we look forward to the future with new projects, fundraisers and social events, however we want to keep many of the traditions both clubs have had.  With change comes growth and we cannot grow without you.

We are looking forward to seeing old friends and for those of us who have not been in the Lions club for a long time, making new friends.  I am looking forward to seeing you on August 1st at our celebration.
