Morgan Hill and San Martin Lions participate in Friday Night Music Series

Morgan Hill Lions Club is participating in the 2013 Morgan Hill Friday Night Music Series

Morgan Hill and San Martin Lions Clubs have joined their efforts to excite the 500+ attendees of the events about Lions Clubs. Secondly, we have presented a challenge to the attendees to donate 500 pairs of glasses to our Clubs. This has turned out to be very successful with approximately 200+ donations to date.

We are currently in the middle of the season, which started June 14th and will end August 30th. This is a fantastic opportunity for good healthy “FREE” family entertainment or an evening with friends to listening, dance and lip sync to many of your favorite songs and music in the outdoor concert area. Each Friday has a different band with a little change in the styles of music with different local bands.

We encourage your clubs to take the opportunity to pack a little picnic, bring their favorite non-alcoholic beverage, along with your folding chairs; some food and wine and beer can be purchased at the event. We would also recommend wearing comfortable shoes (event is on the lawn area and bring a light jacket because Morgan Hill can get a little cool when the sun goes down.

Take that short drive to Morgan Hill on Friday night and join the fun located at of the Community & Cultural Center, corner of Dunne and Monterey, Morgan Hill. Music starts at 6:00 pm and ends around 9:00 pm.

LIONS DAY 2013 AT CAMP DE LOS NINOS!

Lions here is your chance to come to camp for a day to see how the money donated from the Lions Diabetes Camp Fundraiser this past year is helping over 100 kids have a great week.  They will be having fun while learning how to improve their diabetes management skills at the same time and survive a week away from home! Their parent’s appreciate a break too!

Diabetic Youth Foundation and the Camp de los Ninos staff are inviting the Bay Area Lions Clubs to Lions Day at the recently renovated YMCA Camp Campbell (aka Camp de los Ninos) at 16275 Hiway 9, Boulder Creek on Tuesday 8/13/13 10:30 am to 12 pm.  Lunch is available for the first 20 RSVP’s due to space limitations. Car pooling is recommended.

Included is a tour of the camp and an informal talk with the DYF Executive Director to learn about all the behind-the-scenes work that make this a successful week for all of the campers, staff, and volunteers.  Plan to wear tennis shoes and comfy clothes.  Thanks to Los Gatos Lions donations the swimming pool is available for more time this year which is one of the highlights of the week for the kids.
