2011-2012 4-C6 Convention….and request from your Governor

We have returned from convention, with great memories and probably ready for a bit of R&R !  Our convention team did a fabulous job, and even the weather cooperated! Our visiting guests had a wonderful time and had full exposure to 4-C6 hospitality and fellowship.  Many Lions & Clubs were recognized, but the following deserve special recognition and are mentioned below..

Emerging Lion of the Year, Lion Kymberlie Osler from the Carmel Mission Trail Lions Club

Lion of the Year, Lion Howard Mukoyama, SJ Scales of Justice Lions Club

International President’s Certificate of Appreciation – Lion Frances Maglalang, Milpitas Executive Lions Club

International President’s Certificate of Appreciation – PRC Greg Snow, SJ Almaden Super Lions Club

International President’s Certificate of Appreciation – 2nd VDG-E Karen Fillmore, SJ Scales of Justice Lions Club

International President’s Leadership Medal – PDG Steve Brown, Scotts Valley Host Lions Club

Frank Granito Award – Carmel Mission Trail Lions Club

Best Hands on Project – Cabrillo Host Lions Club

And…all of our candidates were elected ! (YAY!!)

If you have the chance to congratulate any or all of those Lions, please do so!

While we are on the downhill side of this year….it’s not over yet ! Currently our District is down more than 50 members from our totals at the beginning of the year….I have one last large favor to ask from all of you…..just ask someone you know to join you in a project, event or club meeting….then, just answer any questions they have about our organization…then just ask them if they would like to join us…..

We can significantly lessen our loss in the next 30 days,

I know we can….

A very wise Lion I spoke with at Convention said, “Hearing a “no”, just gets you closer to hearing a “yes”….

Yours in Lionism & Finishing Strong..

I have a request for an eyeglass donation box

As you likely know, Santa Clara County has proclaimed May lion’s eyeglass recycling month.  Last year I got an eyeglass donation box and my contact turned it in to someone else.  I am again in need of a donation box.  My contact has already sent out her message and is collecting glasses.

Would someone in the greater San Jose/Campbell area have a donation box I could have or use for this month?
