District Youth Exchange

Hello, Lions!

It was another great time for 2011 Summer MD4 Lions International Youth
Exchange. Our District hosted 2 Europeans and 2 Japanese students. We are
looking forward to the Winter Students from Australia and New Zealand.

Our fundraising raffle tickets were given to each club at our District
Cabinet Meeting on Feb 2011. The following clubs sent in their raffle stubs
and payments for the Early Bird Drawing: Santa Cruz, Beverly Burbank,
Visionary, San Martin, Hollister, Scotts Valley, Santa Clara Host and
Milpitas Executive Lions Club. Early Bird winners were announced at District
Convention Sunday Breakfast: Santa Cruz, San Martin and Hollister. Saratoga and Japantown LC also sold some and submitted their stubs and
payments.

PLEASE BRING your stubs, payments, pledges and/or unsold Raffle Tickets to the CABINET MEETING this Saturday November 12. We need to get back the unsold raffle tickets, so we can sell more until the February 18, 2012 Cabinet Meeting.

Newsflash!!! MD4 Youth Exchange Foundation had paid out $15,150 in scholarships, camp fees and visas for 30 students who visited 13 countries.

This year, District 4-C6 was represented by Kevin Tee in Italy and Shannon Tee in Switzerland.

If you have have interested students to visit other countries for Lions Youth Exchange Summer 2012, please contact me as soon as possible. Although, the application is due February 1, 2012, we are filling-out fast! We still have open slots for Austria(2), Belgium(1), Brazil(2), Denmark(2), Finland(2), Germany(2), Israel(2), Netherlands(2), Norway(2), Sweden(2) and Switzerland(2).

Thank you for your continued support of the Lions Youth Exchange Program.

Remember to turn in your unsold District Youth Exchange Raffle Tickets to the CABINET MEETING this Saturday November 12. We want to avoid having to print more tickets.

Yours in service,
Lion Marie Pham

District 4-C6 November Cabinet Meeting

Join us for the second Cabinet Meeting at the Prunedale Grange Hall, 17890 Moro Road in Prunedale this Saturday, November 12th. The meeting will start at 9 am sharp, or risk the wrath of our Tail Twister!   Be sure to wear your best “western wear”, your chance to get ready for this year’s “California Gold Rush” themed convention in May.

Please rsvp to your Zone Chair if you want to join us for a fabulous lunch provided by the Prunedale Lions Club. Cost is $10.00 per person, and promises to be one of the best road-kills yet!! Please rsvp no later than Wednesday the 9th.

Be sure to invite your new members to join us! We are planning to welcome any Lion that is new as of January 1, 2011 as well as the club that claims them! We also will be recognizing those clubs that have already met their membership goals (and are on their way to exceeding them!).

Any club that has a club brochure, or business card, or any other marketing tools, please be sure to bring them to the meeting. We will be creating a “brag board” of all such items as a “visible” example of what is being used by our clubs so others can learn and duplicate!

Immediately following the cabinet meeting will be two training sessions; “So You Want To Be District Governor” by IPDG Ray Maglalang and “Tech Training for RC’s & ZC”s” by our Fabulous Tech Team.
