Free Flu Shots, Diabetes screening, Hypertension monitoring and medical advice will be given freely on October 31st and November 7th at the Northside Community Center located at 488 North 6th Street in San Jose. The place is at the corner of 6th Street and Empire Street. The starting time is 9:30 to 12:00 noon. Seniors wishing to have these medical services are urged to register at the Community Center before their desired date of inoculation. The Annual Country Store and Auction at the Blind and Visually Impaired
Center is set for Saturday, November 6th from 10am to 2pm. The Blind
and Visually Impaired Center is located at 225 Laurel Avenue in Pacific Grove.

Blood is needed by accident and trauma victims, premature babies, and patients undergoing treatment for leukemia and many other life-threatening diseases.
Special benefits for donors:
Blood donors get the satisfaction of knowing they’ve helped to provide hope and life to a patient in a local hospital. Each donor will also receive a coupon for a free pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream! The entire whole blood donation only takes 5 to 10 minutes.
Blood donors must:
Be at least 17 years of age
Weigh at least 110 lbs.
Be free of cold and flu symptoms (allergies okay as are most medications)
Eat before donating and drink plenty of fluids
