Sunnyvale Family Barbecue

Sunnyvale Host Lions Club presents its 7th Annual Family Barbecue on Saturday, August 14th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara Elks Lodge, 1680 Martin Avenue, Santa Clara (map).

Adult tickets are $25 per person, kids under 12 are free. Tri-tip, chicken, all the fixings, and hosted bar. Activities for the kids include a bounce house, face painting, water games, and cotton candy.

Raffle, silent auction and live auction. All proceeds to our charitable causes.

De Anza Lions Golf Tournament

The 23rd Annual DeAnza Lions Golf Tournament will be held at the golf course at Moffett Field on Saturday, September 25, 2010. A $100 donation entitles you to one round of golf in a scramble tournament (cart included), coffee and doughnuts, as well as catered BBQ dinner after golf. In addition, there will be a putting, closest to the pin, and longest drive contests with trophies awarded.

The start time is 11:00 AM (shotgun style). Registration and driving range opens at 9:30 AM.

Presidents and Secretaries, please bring your newest members to assist them in accomplishing their “Proud Lion Award”  LET’S keep up the momentum!!

All proceeded from the corned beef and vegetable lunch will be donated to the Pacheco Pass 4-H, as the Santa Clara County Fair is around the corner.

We will start the meeting promptly at 9 am, your consideration is greatly appreciated.

Biograghy of Past International Director Beverly Stebbins

We are very happy to have Past International Director Beverly L Stebbins to do the induction of DG Ray Maglalang’s installation on July 17. Please see below Beverly’s biography.

Beverly Stebbins, from Arlington, Texas, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 91st International Convention, held in Bangkok, Thailand, June 23-27, 2008.

Past Director Stebbins is a retired teacher.

A member of the Arlington Texas Lions Club and a Lion since 1992, Past Director Stebbins has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson, region chairperson, vice district governor and district governor. She has also served as a presenter at the Texas Lions Leadership Forum and as a moderator at last year’s USA/Canada Forum.

In recognition of her service to the association, Past Director Stebbins has received numerous awards, including a Multiple District Lion of the Year award, the 100% District Governor Award, two International Leadership Medals, two International President’s Awards and an Ambassador of Good Will Award. She is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.

In addition to her Lions activities, Past Director Stebbins has been active in numerous professional and community organizations.

Past Director Stebbins and her husband, Edward, also a Lion and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two children and four grandchildren.
