Mountain View Silicon Valley Charter Night

One of the most exciting occasions in Lionism is the chartering of a new club. In District 4-C6, we are excited to announce that the charter application for the Mountain View Silicon Lions Club was approved by Lions Clubs International on August 12, 2009. The club will receive its Charter on October 10, at a celebration in Mountain View.

We would be honored by the presence of representatives from clubs throughout the District on our special night. Tickets are $45 per person. A flyer is included below with all the details for you to circulate among your members. We plan to visit many of the clubs in our area between now and the Charter Night as well, so perhaps we’ll see you at a meeting soon!

MD-4 Student Speaker Contest

This year’s topic is “Universal Healthcare — How will it affect us?”

Governor Joe and CST Jean have asked clubs not to call the MD4 office inquiring about student speaker contest packets. As in the past, postcards will be sent out to the clubs around September 1st. Club officers will then fill out the postcards, return them to MD4 and the packets will be mailed in October.

Successful club level contests require planning, and that can start now, before you receive your packets. Remember that the deadline for club contests this year is February 22, 2010.
