Hello all, we have been enjoying the fantastic support of many clubs during our short 4 years of existence. We have our flagship wine tasting event coming up in February and thought there might be some folks in the district who would enjoy tickets as gifts. You can read all about the event here: http://willowglenlions.org/willow-glen-lions-annual-wine-tasting/
I will be bringing many of my clients and associates as guests. Properly structured, this could be a tax deductible item (talk with your tax person, please).
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Rick Loek and the Willow Glen Lions!
First of all, we thank Cupertino Host Lions for their generous support of the Brew ‘n’ Bites event!
Our Willow Glen Lions Beer Tasting – Brews’n’Bites – is coming up this weekend and we have gotten some fabulous food as well as some great beers.
The tickets are only $25 each ($35 at the door) and while it’s snacking with the beer, the snacks include a sliders bar and a taco bar, as well as Nothing Bundt Cakes desserts, yakitori sticks from Yuki Sushi and much more.
And there’s a great weighted raffle with many prizes and gifts. For $25 more you get a ticket for a chance to win either a week for up to 6 at a Lake Tahoe resort, or a beautiful five bedroom home in Lake Tahoe for two nights.
Most important, your ticket purchase helps us to support Parents Helping Parents, who provide support, guidance and more for families with special needs children.
Brews’n’Bites starts at 3:30 on Saturday afternoon, October 19th, and goes through 7 pm… just in time for dinner, if you’re not too full already!
I hope you will join us and help these kids and their families. Buy tickets online at http://brewsandbites.org/
– and join the fun!!
Hello Fellow Lions!
Willow Glen Lions’ Fundraiser is just days away. We have added something new: We will now be having a Taco Bar and Slide Bar. That is you and your guests will be able to make self-serve tacos and sliders!
This is a great addition to event!
Tickets are still only $25 each or $50 to include a ticket to the Grand Prize Drawing. The Grand Prize includes two different get-a-way vacations to Tahoe. We have, as of today, added two box seats to an upcoming Sharks game.
Tickets at the door are $35 for entry tickets.
Come have some fun for only $25 per person!

As you likely know, Santa Clara County has proclaimed May lion’s eyeglass recycling month. Last year I got an eyeglass donation box and my contact turned it in to someone else. I am again in need of a donation box. My contact has already sent out her message and is collecting glasses.
Would someone in the greater San Jose/Campbell area have a donation box I could have or use for this month?

The business directory is online and ads are starting to be placed. Take a moment and get acquainted with the directory.
There will be more messages about how wonderful it is to be able to buy from your fellow lions. My presentation of this is, if are going to buy something consider buying it from a fellow lion first. It may not work for everyone to do this. If it does work for you – our members thank you.
Also, if you wish you had purchased an ad – it is not too late. You can get in on the online directory for the balance of the year. Let’s all work together to have the impact of the economy be minimized for our lions.
If you purchased an ad and have not yet received an email about how to create your online ad – please email me! My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
