How to protect yourself from Foreclosure and
What to do if it’s eminent!
Every October, the Milpitas Executive Lions Club for the past 7 years sponsors the MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY EVENT for the community. This is the time when we come together in one location and share what services are offered for the community by the City and Santa Clara County. Together with the Milpitas Community Advisory Commission this is a great opportunity for our residents to better understand the what is available and how they can benefit from them. The event will be held at the MILPITAS COMMUNITY CENTER from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on OCTOBER 26, 2014.

Held in partnership with the Santa Clara County Parks Department, Day on the Bay is a celebration that brings people together to enjoy activities, rich in diversity and talent, and abundant in ethnic expression. More than that, Day on the Bay is also an informational fair where the local community can meet non-profit, government, and community-based organizations to learn about their services. Free food will be provided to the community and Free pumpkins for the kids (while supplies last). There will also be community groups providing ethnic food booths, arts and crafts and live entertainment on two stages, as well as face painting, fire trucks, kayak trips in the Alviso Slough, girl and boy scout troops, and much more.
District 4-C6 Lions will sponsor The A.J. Robinson Mobile Screening Unit — affectionately referred to as “The A.J.”—- is a mobile trailer outfitted for providing health screenings that may highlight risks for blindness or vision problems.

Some of the topics to be discussed are:
- Do I have three days to cancel the purchase of a new or used car?
- Must a store take back a purchase and refund my money?
- What do I do when a mechanic wants more money for a car repair than shown on the estimate?
- I received a card in the mail telling me that I won a prize and to claim it – I must send $19.95. Is this OK?
- A merchant charged me an extra fee for the use of my credit card. Is this wrong?
- A local store advertises a product at a given price without disclosing that there are additional hidden costs. Can I get the advertised price? To whom do I report this?
- And many more…
Come get the latest information on how to protect yourself as a consumer.
