Wine Tour Itinerary

Wine TourThe wineries have been set. Lunch is being ordered. Are you reading to have a relaxing day in Gold Country, tasting wine and picnicking under the trees?

First, we’ll be tasting at Dillian Wines. They will have just bottled their Syrah, and if it’s ready, we’ll taste it along with their other wines. We’ll be supplying cheese and crackers to accompany our tasting.

Next we’ll travel to Domba Zemlja, where Amador Vintage Market will deliver sandwiches, pasta salad, strawberries and brownies for our picnic lunch. (And we can certainly get wine to go with that!) Wine tasting will follow.

The price is $40 and now includes lunch and cheeses. Dobra Zemlja has a separate $5 tasting fee, refunded on the purchase of wine. We’ll meet at the lobby of the hotel at 9:30 on Thursday and we’ll handle all the logistics, so all you need to do is bring your zest for wine and your appetite. We expect to return to the hotel between 3:00 and 3:30.

Come join us! Contact or 408-910-6597 to RSVP.

PDG Robert Hichborn passes on

Lion Robert Hichborn, Past District Governor (1985-1986)
San Jose West-Campbell Lions

I have learned, today, from a very reliable source that PDG Bob Hichborn died this weekend after a long illness. He has been cremated and will have a private, family funeral.

Your prayers for his journey to Heaven be included in your talks with God.

It is Bob’s hopes that you will remember the happy times along the Lions trail and the many gifts of sight that he was able to give through the InSight Program. He was very proud of that program.

Yours in Lionism,
Chuck Hart, PCC
Bob was District Governor
District 4-C6 in 1985-86

Pancake Breakfast starts at 7:30.
Call to order at 9:00

We’ll be touring the new LCI reporting website after the meeting. This may be especially interesting to club secretaries.

And remember that we’ll be roasting Furby a half hour after the meeting is over. Fire up the burners!

District convention

Our district convention will be at the Red Lion Woodlake Hotel in Sacramento from May 8 through May 12. Details to come in February.

This used the be the Radisson, which became the Woodlake, which is now the Red Lion Woodlake. The old Red Lion is now the Clarion. Confused? Don’t be. Go to the old Radisson or click the link above to see the map. See you there!
