UPDATE:
District Canine Companion Outing: TIME CHANGED to leave at 9:00am from Applebees restaurant on Saratoga near 280 on 2/17/12.  Everyone who is going please pack a lunch as we have been invited for a Special tour of the Canine Companion Campus (see tour information below) and we need to be sure to arrive on time. Please let me know how many from the Lions club will be attending.

Canine Companions for Independence
CCI’s campus has some Peanuts character statues around because Charles Schulz donated the property it is built on.  The tour consists of showing the process from the puppies being brought in from the breeder caretakers to the “puppy park,” the vet clinic, the kennels, the training rooms, and the dorms and what occurs at each location. The culmination of the process is graduation.

While you are on tour, you will see a lot of the puppy raisers that are turning in their puppies for Advanced Training as well as some puppy raisers who have graduating dogs that have just met the recipients of their dog.
